KOLEZIJA SWIMMING POOL COMPLEX

The city’s oldest swimming pool, nestled beneath the towering trees and alongside the green banks of the Gradaščica River, is a historic site whose tradition dates back to the 19th century. As Ljubljana’s first public swimming pool, Kolezija holds a special place in the hearts of many locals, as generations learned to swim right here.

In 2015, the pool underwent a complete renovation. The new pavilion-style building was designed to open up views from the entrance plaza to the outdoor summer pool. Its architectural layout even allows the setting sun to reflect off the pool’s surface, offering stunning sunset views over the city. The original spirit of the bath – a pool in the greenery – has been preserved, with grassy recreational areas and restored tribunes now standing again between the pool and the river, beneath the tree canopy.

The outdoor pool complex includes:

• an Olympic-size pool

• a children’s pool

• a splash pool

• a massage pool

• a sun deck with wooden lounge terraces.

The facility also offers various sports and recreation areas, including table tennis, a basketball court, and a beach volleyball court.

Inside the building, the Kolezija Sauna offers relaxation in two Finnish saunas, a large Turkish bath, and an infrared sauna. The sauna operates outside of the summer pool season.

The complex includes:

• indoor and outdoor parking spaces

• dedicated parking for motorcycles and bicycles

• full accessibility for persons with reduced mobility

The facility rules, hygiene regulations, and other visitor information are displayed on-site.

Access to the olympic swimming pool is provided for people with reduced mobility.

Food and Beverage Services: The property has a catering offer.

Opening hours: scheduled from mid-May to the end of September.

Information for visitors: In order to ensure that the swimming pools close on time, lifeguards will ask you to leave the area at least 15 minutes before closing time.
