At the hippodrome, we offer stabling for up to 60 horses. Trotting horses can prepare for their competitions on a 1,000-metre-long racetrack, which is approximately 20 metres wide. For lighter training sessions, they may use the judges’ path, which runs 800 metres along the inner section of the track.
The hippodrome also provides excellent facilities for training both horses and riders who compete in dressage or show jumping. These riders have access to both the main arena and a dedicated training arena.
This green area on the outskirts of the city is one we wish to further enliven and enrich with new content. Recently, members and trainees of the Slovenian national archery teams established their training grounds on the edge of the hippodrome.
A visit to the hippodrome and interaction with the horses is a unique and engaging experience for children. For this reason, we aim to increase interest in this beautiful sport by encouraging visits from kindergartens and schools.
