Stožice Stadium was officially opened on 11 August 2010 with an inaugural match between the national teams of Slovenia and Australia. Shortly after the opening match, the stadium welcomed over 20,000 visitors for the cultural-entertainment event “NotpaduLajv?!”, the first of its kind to be held at the new stadium.
Stožice Stadium features 16,038 seats in the stands, 558 VIP seats, 210 press seats, and 97 spaces for disabled spectators. It serves as the home ground for the football club Olimpija and the Slovenian national football team, and is also designed to host other sporting as well as cultural and entertainment events. The total area of the stadium is 24,614 square metres.
Access is provided throughout the venue, including to changing rooms, restrooms, and showers.
