The original pool complex, consisting of three pools, was built by the Vevče Paper Mill in the 1970s. The renovation of the swimming facility began in 2018, when the City Municipality of Ljubljana purchased the necessary land and held an anonymous architectural competition. A professional jury unanimously selected the architectural proposal submitted by the Gužič Trplan group.
The new facility is designed with sustainability in mind. It features a solar power plant, heat pumps, and a groundwater utilization system. Highlights include a 25-metre indoor swimming pool with an adjustable floor, a multi-purpose sports hall, relaxing saunas (Finnish, Turkish, and infrared), and a café with a terrace. Outdoors, visitors can enjoy a 50-metre recreational pool, a children’s pool, a splash pad, a playground, a beach volleyball court, and table tennis facilities.
The Vevče Swimming Pool Complex is intended for swimmers, sports enthusiasts, recreational users, families, and schools. It offers ideal conditions for recreation, sports, and enjoyable leisure time throughout the year.
Access to the swimming pool is provided for people with reduced mobility.
A non-swimmers’ pool with a depth of 90 cm is available, along with an outdoor Olympic-size outdoor pool and an indoor 25-metre pool with a movable floor (the adjustable floor allows a depth of 1.35 m). During the winter season, this technological solution enables flexible use of the pool for swimming lessons and exercise programs for more vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities. A pool lift is also provided to ensure accessible entry into the pool.

Notice for swimmers: To ensure the facility closes on time, lifeguards will ask all swimmers to leave the pools at least 15 minutes before closing.
