STOŽICE ARENA

STOŽICE ARENA

The most modern and largest sports arena in the country.

The most modern and largest arena in Slovenia is capable of hosting major sporting and cultural events such as concerts, performances, congresses, banquets, equestrian events, circus shows, motorsport events, and more. Numerous top artists have performed here, including some of the most renowned musicians on the global stage: OneRepublic, 2Cellos, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Rammstein, and many others.

Arena Stožice is home to KK Cedevita Olimpija, RK Krim, and various Slovenian national teams across different sports.

The maximum height of the arena is 34.6 metres. The parquet floor measures 1,150 m², while the largest usable flat concrete surface measures 72 m × 45 m. The arena is illuminated by 124 spotlights, each of which can be individually controlled in terms of lighting intensity and direction.

Seating is arranged on three levels within the shell-shaped arena, and the stands are divided into three tiers (Green Level, VIP Level, and Red Level). Visitors can also enjoy events from 49 VIP boxes and from the SUPER VIP area, which spans more than 200 m² and includes a hospitality space and a bar counter.

Spaces for wheelchair users are located along the railing above Stand B. There are 49 designated wheelchair spaces, and companion seating is available in the last row of Stand B.

In the lower level of the arena, there is also a smaller warm-up hall that hosts various smaller events throughout the year, mainly sporting events, and is also used for training by both resident clubs.

Hall of Slovenian Sports Heroes

The Hall of Slovenian Sports Heroes was established in 2011 by the Slovenian Sports Journalists Association and includes the greatest Slovenian athletes of all time from various sports disciplines. At the end of 2013, it found its permanent home in Arena Stožice, located along the corridors of the Green Level. More information about the exhibition is available here.

The central space of the VIP level is available for rent and represents an excellent choice for hosting receptions, private events, and parties.

In addition to the two halls, the complex features more than 200 different rooms, including locker rooms, offices, a fitness area, media facilities, a room for firefighters and police, a kitchen, hospitality areas, a doping control room, a medical room, two reception areas, and spaces for ticket sales, promotional merchandise, food, and beverages.

Arena Stožice officially opened on 10 August 2010 with a basketball game between Slovenia and Spain. Less than two months later, the first cultural event filled the arena when opera singer José Carreras performed there.
